A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the email messages sent to nonexistent email addresses. For instance, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and thus you will never miss messages because the other party has an outdated address or has made a typographical error. The downside of having a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of unsolicited email messages, but this issue can be rectified by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also vital to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward incoming email messages to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be surprisingly easy if you have a cloud hosting with us. You can enable this feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-use Email Manager tool, which is built into the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you’ll administer the shared hosting account itself. You’ll find all the email addresses that you’ve set up enumerated in alphabetical order and on the right side of each of them there will be a small-size "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously tell you if a specific mailbox stores all the messages pertaining to a certain domain or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this option at any moment. If there’s active email forwarding or in case some other mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain name, you will receive a warning notice from our system. The latter won’t disable/replace anything automatically or without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled with ease if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have created using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll notice a small logo handily located right next to each of them. With only a mouse click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire as long as there isn't another mailbox under the same domain with this option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Alternatively, you can right-click on an email address and enable this feature using the context menu that will appear. If any of the prerequisites for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
